Soldiers from the 27th Iowa Volunteer Infantry Wounded and Captured at Gettysburg, PA
July 3, 1863

Name
Company
Notes
Greineison, Henry (wounded)
G
in the left leg. Discharged March 21, 1865, Keokuk, on account of wounds.
Stoddard, Truman, (captured)
A
Taken prisoner July 3,1863. Mustered out May 17, 1865, St. Louis, Mo.
Note that Henry Greineison's record claims he was wounded at Gettysburg. (and July 3, 1863 is the correct date for the Battle of Gettysburg.) How did he happen to be there? To my knowledge, The 27th was not at Gettysburg.

Truman Stoddard's record does not indicate where he was captured, but it was the same day, so I have included it here.
